Great report, Steve. I especially liked Stella. And the shot of her disappering. Hope all is well... Cynthia Bellwood Discovery

Doctor Steve...I enjoyed your report and photos. The story of Stella reminded me of two things. One was the Mason Williams (Classical Gas) song: Thirteen Dollar Stella. It's not how it sounds; it was the cost of his first guitar, a cheap Stella. The other story involves my childhood. My parents sent us to Catholic school and my mother didn't drive. My father, a tool and die maker, left for the factory around 5:00am. At first grade age, my sister and I walked the mile into town from our house out west of Fairfax. Once in town, we hopped a Greyhound bus and rode to San Anselmo where we transfered to the San Rafael Greyhound. When we got off that bus we needed to walk some six blocks to school. In the afternoon we reversed the process. In the 50's those bus depots were filled with girlie magazines, cigar chewing Charlies and all the usual suspects. I wish I'd taken pictures! Best, Jim
