On November 15 at 5 P.M. (November 16 at 7 A.M. in Japan) Yamanoteminami and Allen Elementary Schools held their third videoconference. We were surprised to see Meads Mill Middle School (Crystal Gregg) online sharing our MeetingPlaza jfmf space, but fortunately we were not going to present at the same time! Meads Mill had a jack-o-lantern complete with smoke! We ended 15 minutes early so that Meads Mill and Saikyo could begin their conference. We then watched the beginning of their chopstick competition.
Principals Imazawa and Fitzgibbon initiated our conference by greeting each other - a great way to celebrate our friendship and International Education Week 2006! We then shared information about our pair project water quality comparisons of Kotonihassamu River in Sapporo and Mallett's Creek in Ann Arbor. We finished with Japanese lessons on words to express feelings and English lessons on school supplies.
We had a shortened, but successful conference with good sound quality and adequate video quality with MeetingPlaza.
