After several test conferences between Mizu and myself, Dowell E.S. fourth grade gifted kids finally held a successful conference on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 7:00 PM US time. There were 13 students accompanied by their parents. There was an air of excitement in the room as we connected. The picture quality was good but the audio still needs work. We could not hear Japan with using the headphones. This only allowed for one person to speak to our Japanese friends at a time. The American children introduced themselves in Japanese. They also told about their favorite hobbies, sports, foods, etc. We shared the results of the bugs and soil collection. The students at Onominami were well prepared. They showed us their bugs and gave the students a Japanese lesson. I wish we were able to interact in person. I don't believe that language would be a barrier. The next video conference will take place on Nov. 1 when Mr. Araki is visiting our school. I think he will be very surprised since we are planning on having him go trick or treating.

Looks like fun! Nice group of kids you have there and they look excited. Good luck with the trick or treating!
