Sebastian River Middle School and Hiroshima Motomachi Senior High School held their first video conference on September 6/7. Both video and audio were excellent during the conference and there were no major technical problems.
Our goal for the first conference was to have the participating students introduce themselves. The students were very excited and enjoyed sharing their names and talking about their hobbies and interests. It was great to see my partners, Mr. Hiraoka and Mr. Kamikawa, and some of the students I had met at Motomachi Senior High School. Especially, it was a pleasure to see and speak with Himeni-san. During my 2003 MTP, Himeni-san was a 7th grade student at my partner school Inokuchidai Junior High School in Hiroshima. She was one of a group of students that gave me Japanese language lessons for an hour each day during club activities.
