Our final meeting was scheduled for 3-6-07 15:30 (Cheyenne) and 3-7-07 07:30 (Japan). Due to technical issues, Cheyenne East was unable to fully participate, but we did hear from Pocono Mountain HS and Shotoku Gauken and their pair project regarding space. It sounded like everyone had a real learning experience.
In order to have a final exchange with our partners from Hibiki HS, we rescheduled for 3-7-07 16:30 (Cheyenne) and 3-8-07 08:30 (Fukuoka). Dr. Jones helped in moderating the group.
We gave a report on the status of our pair project and touched on all of the aspects of the program over the course of the year...fast plant's and bug and soil collections, and language lessons.
Then our partners from Hibiki High School gave a thorough presentation from their point of view. As always, they were well prepared and did an excellent job. It has been a pleasure working with them.
Two of the Cheyenne East students were attending a web conference for the first time. They were very impressed and had an enjoyable time. Both of them wanted to do another one right away. I was sad to inform them that we were done for the 2006 MTP, but told them to come back and take part in the 2007 web conferences.
The JFMF MTP 2006 process has been a learning experience for me. I have seen growth in myself, in my students, and in the Hibiki High School students. I am very pleased about working with them again in 2007.
Jim Z.,
Cheyenne East HS
