I hope I am posting this report in the proper thread. This may be the third time I have posted a December report.
In December we enjoyed a video conference with Matsuyama and sterted another planting with our fast plant project. No insects were collected and we weren't doing any pond construction.
Our pond project was neglected in December due to continual rain. Our newly constructed French Drainage system was working perfectly and we no longer were having classes in a moat, but the hole kept filling with rainwater. I hooked up a small fountain pump to a garden hose to drain away the unwanted water, but groundwarer and continual rain brought the project to a stop. We are still waiting for things to dry out in late March. Our partners were able to see and photograph our project when they visited campus as part of the study tour.
December was a short month for Shoreline. Winter Break took two weeks out of the school calendar. We did send Christmas cards to our Japanese pen pals though.
