Sharai is quite an energetic teacher. The day broke misty and rainy. My translator, Neika, held a useless umbrella as the kids broke up into 5 groups. We stayed with two and Shiarai ran between the otehrs. they had a neat plasticcontraption...which turned out to be the device theydrain the used milk cartons with...they gathered soil and shook it through the containers...separating not only soil but larger bugs from the smaller ones.
One group hit an ant colony and counted the bugs over and over again.
Once inside they catagorized the bugs and the ant colony boasted a whopping 157 ants....Sharai and I both had to laugh because those ants were counted over and over and over again as they ran around.
Then, the kids dre the bugs and hypothesized why there were more bugs now than last time...but I have to tell you in the cold and mist they found precious few. In Tennessee we'd have had teaming buckets of bugs due to our warm and humid weather.
Will again attempt toattach a picture or load one once I figure out why I can only load one per submission. Rick=san resized them all....
