On a bright sunny day in September, our students explored the low grasslands around the school in search of bugs and insects. The temperature was 90 degrees farenheit. The students were really excited and ready to put their techniques and skills to use. Every time they discovered a bug or insect, they yelled, "Ms. Carnes, look what I've found. Come and take a picture." Upon completing our bug collection, the students and I went inside the classroom to make observations and classify the bugs by the number of eyes, legs, wings, body structure, and etc. After making and recording our observations, we released the insects. During our discovery, the students found many beetles, love bugs, earthworms, and spiders.
