Last spring, a small group of Delmar students finally carried out the bug collection - in the rain - after many days of re-scheduling. Spring at Delmar is filled with sports activities and other events that make scheduling anyting extra at all in May quite a challenge. We carried out the collection in the woods behind the schooll, using hula-hoops to mark the study sites at random distances from the path. Other than a few ants, centipedes and some small unidentified critters, we came up rather empty handed. Although we took pictures, unfortunately they were lost when my website and other materials were mistakenly erased last summer from the school server while I was in Japan.
