Hillside bugs and soil report-collection areas |

Hillside Middle School performed the bugs and soil collections on two separate dates in May of 2006.
The early May date was cold and windy and yielded no insects in our counting areas. The second date of collection was 19 degrees C, and sunny. Wind speed was 1.4 meters/second. Insects were counted in two different habitats near the school grounds. The first was a grassy habitat with very few trees and quite open to sun. The second was a small wooded area with much shade.
