The 1st Grade students at Callisburg Elementary School had a great time as they learned about the holiday of Halloween and learned about pumpkins. They visited a pumpkin farm, and actually were able to choose a pumpkin.
Last spring, the students were mentored by last year's 1st graders, and they planted pumpkin seeds. Well, as many of you know, Texas suffered a drought. Our pumpkin vines survived, but produced no pumpkins! This could be due not only to the drought, but a possible lack of insects for pollination?
