Mountain Shadows Middle School and Shotoku Gakuen Junior High selected the Future Cities Competition as our pair project. Shotoku Gakuen had several years of experience in this competition, and their students produced very polished and creative models, essays and presentations.
The Mountain Shadows students were new to this project. They continue to enjoy using the Sim City computer program, but fall short when translating it into a work project. They labored over deciding on a design and then seemed to switch between serious work and play when given time to generate their models. Their weakness is in adequate planning and in producing quality work. Hopefully their association with Shotoku Gakuen this year will inspire them to give more attention to their future projects.
