Our pair project is to identify animals and plants that depend on bodies of water for their survival. Organisms that are identified are photographed. Research on each animal and plant is done to record and report the basic characteristics and life patterns.
This month we researched data on the animals and plants that we had photographed. We found the information on the Internet. After editing, the material was printed and attached on both sides to pieces of construcion paper. This way, a student could read the information over a video conference while the Japanese students could also read along (hopefully).
The photos of the animals and plants were developed and placed into a small photo album. When we had the last Japan Club meeting before our December video conference, the students rehearsed. Taking turns, students worked in pairs: one student holding up the photo of the animal or plant to the camera while another one read the data about that particular species.
