march 18. We returned to Bell MHS for training and workshops for our bugs, soil and fast plants projects. We had excellent presentations by various experts in these fields. The first workshop we atended was the bugs component. Doctoral candidate Adam Bahrani gave a detailed explanation of the complex interactions between plants and insects. I found this interesting as much of my science degree was invertabrate zoology. The second session we attended was the plants led by Dr. Paul Williams of Wisconsin. He explained many options for projects for us to do with our students. I also got to see an old friend Becky Rosenberg who was assissting the plant seminars that day!
The final session we attended was the soil seminar led by Dr. Henry Ferguson. I know the least about soil so I learned the most new information here. I did not realize soil was classified very similar to organisms. After the sessions we returned to the hotel and my partners and I walked directly to Georgetown to do some sight seeing and shopping. After dinner we took a short tour of the local area.
