Our first stop was the Morrison-Knudsen Nature Center, a joint venture between the city of Boise, Idaho Fish and Game and the Boise School District. The Center houses a small natural history museum, small live animal exhibits, a botanical garden, an aviary, a small scale riparian habitat, and series of five viewing windows that enable visitors to observe the life cycle of salmon.
Makiko marveling over a creekside boulder graced with petroglyphs.
Finally, we visited the Idaho State Capitol Building where the legislature was in session and happened to be debating the pros and cons of charter schools. Politics and fiscal responsibility, now there's a language translation challenge even for native speakers.
