After departing the kokeshi doll house, we ventured to where we would have lunch. A vehicle led us up the road to where we would park in front of an old Japanese Farmhouse. The driver of the lead vehicle was Yuichi-sensei's father-in-law.
We walked in, and sat at an area that had an open pit for a fire, with a kettle hanging over it. This is where we would wait to be seated for our meal. Yuichi's father-in-law brought in a bag of beautiful gifts. I will never be able to adequately thank my Japanese hosts and families for their kindness.
Luckily, as I mentioned in an earlier posting, Yuichi's father-in-law is a professional photographer. I think I have a lot to learn about my camera. He went to his car, and came back in with his camera, and he took some pictures to commemorate this event - thank goodness!
We had scrumptious food - all vegetables+sweetfish. The owner (I think) told us some history and explained that the meal was prepared healthy using no oils.
I enjoyed this time with Yuichi and Naoko.
And the journey continues....
