From the sensory museum we traveled to a bamboo craft house. I suppose I was more in tune with my senses after the museum visit, and I could not get over the wonderful smell of the bamboo. There were so many items made from bamboo, fans, baskets, animals, toys, mats etc. Clumsy me, I immediately whacked myself in the mouth trying to fly one of those helicopter contraptions made from bamboo, but I quickly learned the proper technique. Now, I have several to take to my students at CES. We sat for some time and visited with one of the women at this shop. She showed us all about the bamboo, how she cuts it, and what parts are razor sharp - very dangerous. As we were in this shop at tea time, she insisted we share this time with her.
