Hi All, This weekend I went with several staff members to Kamakura on Saturday for a wonderful day of sightseeing. Seems Kamakura is one of Mr. Nishiyama's favorite places and he has done his homework on its history and best places to eat!!! I went alone to Kyoto on Sunday and enjoyed touring a few of the temples I did not see on my first visit. Highlights included the Zen garden at Tofuku ji and the exhibits at the Kyoto Museum of Traditional Crafts. Enjoy the pictures. Bill Gilluly

Hi, Bill:
They look great! I went to Kamakura 4 years ago, and enjoyed it. Did you go inside the Statue? How was the weather? Look forward to seeing you in Tokyo. Please share any info on Kabuki.

Bill, great pictures as always. Diabutsu is an interesting stop. Did you pay the extra 20 yen to go inside? Any travel tips for Kyoto? We will be passing through this weekend on the way to Tokyo. Jim, Cheyenne East HS

Hi Jim, I did go inside! Amazing... As for Kyoto- don't miss the Golden Pavillion. I don't know how much time you have, but try to fit it in. If you see nothing else in Japan go see this place. It is astonishing. Splurge for a taxi- its worth it. Enjoy

Thanks for the advice Bill. We will definately give it a look. I think we are splitting time between Osaka, Kyoto, and Kobe over the weekend. I want to try and see as much as possible. Enjoy your time! Jim, Cheyenne East HS

GREAT PHOTOS!!!! I especially like he hands ... I'll have to save Kamakura for my next trip. It seems like all the time we've had in Japan is running out before the planned trips are completed. Oh well, it gives me something for next time. See you soon in Tokyo. Jane
