You can also view this posting in Japanses and English under a report prepared by Mr. Okoshi of the Omose Junior High School.
The afternoon schedule arranged for the 19 American participants of the FMF project and the 3 MTP participants to sightsee in the Kesennuma area that included museums, points of scenic beauty and a Japanese garden (over 350 years old) complete with a tea ceremony.
But the day was not quite over yet, there was still a welcome party where the FMF teachers met their host families. They will stay with a host family this weekend which will be a once in a lifetime experience for many of the American teachers. Entertainment was provided by 4th grade drummers and I must admit they were fantastic (I wish I had my video camera to capture the music).

I only noticed this today, but I like how many teachers still have their name tags! Ishitani-san's warning must have stayed with them for all time.
