Today, we had an opportunity to visit Peace Memorial Museum in Hiroshima. Not one of us had a dry eye after touring the museum. We were overwhelmed by the abundance of information and facts that were displayed throughout the museum. Overwhelming, terrifying, amazing, and heart breaking. Words can not begin to describe the agony that our hearts felt as we toured this incredible museum. It was devastating to see pictures of children's flesh burning, parents carrying their children's bodies, and so many people trying to escape the spreading fires. I can not begin to imagine the pain and suffering the people in Hiroshima experienced on August 6, 1945. How much progress towards world peace have we achieved since the bombing of Hiroshima in 1945? Over sixty years later, mass destruction and bombings continue to exist and destroying our nations. What can we do to resolve these conflicts?

Thank you for sharing the photos of the Peace Memorial in Hiroshima, for those that will never get that far south. I'm really anxious to read your thoughts about the monument.

Did you all also go to the museum? What did you think about it? Once I get caught up with earlier photos and posts, I will put my thoughts and photos on the Hibiki-East thread. Thanks, Jim, East High
