Fujine Minami, Shotoku Gakuen, Mc Clelland and Jackson Schools, with Elissa Sato's assistance, held their joint and final videoconference this afternoon. Because there were technical difficulties at the start of the conference, we ran out of time before my students were able to share their presentations. Instead, I offered a quick overview of what they would have presented were there enough time. Our segment of the conference was organized into four parts including: Presidents' Day, Valentine's Day, our Pair Project on Global Warming and finally the Beatle's "Hello Goodbye" (which we had hoped to sing together with the Japanese children.) My students were disappointed to have missed their opportunity to participate but did enjoy the parts of the videoconference that they were able to observe. The other schools' presentations were interesting and well-prepared. Having Elissa available to translate helped immensely and allowed me to better appreciate the effort that my partner school put into our pair project.
