It occured to me that I have not posted many photos of the children hard at work or play. I'm correcting that right now. Some of these pictures were taken at welcoming parties given me by my partner, Mr. Nishiyama's class and the special education students. Others include a water quality testing class supervised by representatives of the city's water department, art work from various classes being taught by a trully extraordinary art teacher, Minako Tatsuno and a calligraphy lesson. I am including photos from dinner last night with Mr. Nishiyama's sisters' family. They own and operate a traditional kimono shop. What an extraordinary experience. Mr. Nishiyama's brother-in-law has played samisen(?) for the Kabuki theater, his sister produced the hanging decoration for boys day that is without a dougbt the finest example of traditional folk craft I have ever seen, and his nephew has worked in Mongolia teaching orphan children to read and wright!!! The photo of the handsome Samurai warrior was added as an afterthought. I'm not sure what catagory it falls into, but it is without question, one of the great thrills of my life. Enjoy, Bill Gilluly
