Kiwame contacted me via Squirrel Mail (oh, and I've learned how to delete and purge the trash file!) today with a plan for our December videoconference. We both have classes all next week, but we want to go with Monday (Tuesday in Japan) so we have time to have an encore if there are technical problems early in the week. In photography class yesterday I tried out a new telephoto lens on some students. I tried to also capture the cows we had roaming around our campus, but they were gone before I got my act together. These cattle are new to this pasture. First thing a new herd does is set out to walk the fence line and get a sense of where "the man" wants them. Horses do something similar The adjacent ranch was just sold and the first new project, aside from releasing a new herd of bred heffers, is to rerstore the creek. That'll be a big job and we'll try to involve our students as it develops. Last night we had the monthly male bonding bar-b-que at my house. Carol stopped in briefly, but I don't think she saw any of our secret ceremonies. We did play Upwards after dinner. Some of you may recall me bringing Upwards to Japan. It's a great game and I left that one with my host school after playing it as often as possible in order to teach the rules. Here comes lunch time. I'll post a few from yesterday and this morning. Cheers, Jim
