As reported in November the Fast Plants have all finally died, the seed pods collected and stored in my freezer, the soil samples analyzed and de-bugged, and the weather not cooperating - an unearthly 70 degrees yesterday here in Middle Tennessee. (Who said there is no Global Warming?) Bugs and Soil was completed.

We got word that many changes are underway - Bellwood Discovery will move, again, this spring. We will move to another, larger, but older school and change our name - to the Discovery School at Reeves-Rogers. This demands that we begin packing up ASAP. The plant stand is now in a large box along with trays and pipettes and in storage. This is to say that I doubt I can germinate the mutant seeds in the spring, with the move. The children are disappointed, but I'll see what I can rig up.

Pictures attached are the big Around the World event, coordinated with IEW. The entire school had its past enrichment classes centered around a country. This was triggered by MTP! After 9 weeks of enrichment classes of 2 hours each Friday, the whole school spent a day traveling from class to class, getting a taste (literally) of each country. The pictures are of the Japanese enrichment class, of course. We had 8 stations - stories, language, games, food, museum, technology, dress, holidays. These were chosen, researched, and manned by the kids with minimal help and intervention by adults.
