Kushiro continues to be a place of discovery and excitement. Today, for example, the sun shone all day...a miracle, a real miracle.
Pictures are self-explanatory. Learning a lot, experiencing many things. Even have had the chance to speak with a univeristy professor weho is fluent in English about the differences and similarities I perceive in educational theory and practice.
Heck, one minute I am eating sushi and drinking beer with Rick-san, the next discussing Noam Chomsky, the next teaching a lesson on air pressure, and the next learning the subtle differences in Japanese culture.
Saw an exhibit with a class on Gold In Art. Many of the Japanese works seemed to embody the Japanese grounding in tradition and yearning for innovation and creativity. Rick-san and I agree there is an element of surrealism in this experience....the meeting of our culture and this one in depth.
