Yamanoteminami and Allen Elementary Schools had their final videoconference on March 7 (8th in Japan). We had nine students to share the final report on our Fast Plants and to ask some questions of the Japanese students. Unfortunately the MeetingPlaza technology failed us as the video from Sapporo did not work. Our Tokyo moderator, Ms. Nakano was visible. The good news is that the sound was good from all locations. It was a treat to have Ms. Nakano translate for us.
Yamanoteminami Elementary students talked to us about their young Fast Plants that were planted on February 18. They asked us for advice about care of their plants as we planted ours on January 17. We finished the conference with questions about student life in the United States.
It is sad to know that this was our last videoconference with our friends from Sapporo, but we plan on continuing our partnership into the future. We send our best wishes for a successful conclusion to the school year that ends in late March.
