After a restful night at the Japanese Inn, great baths, delicious Japanese style dinner and breakfast, it was sightseeing time. The first place we went was a Kokeshi Doll House. I was elated being a doll collector from a very early age. We watched how the dolls are made, viewed the museum area, shopped, and when it came time to leave the rain was coming down in sheets, so Yuichi and Naoko asked if I would like to try to paint a doll. Yes! I am not artistically inclined, but I enjoyed this activity. I found the black and green paint to be cooperative, but the red was kind of watery, so I ended up outlining the red areas with green. May not have been traditional Kokeshi, but it was pleasing to me.
