Sebastian River Middle School and Hiroshima Motomachi Senior High School held our video conference on October 18/19. The audio and video portions of the conference were excellent, and there were no technical problems at all.
Our main topic of discussion and sharing was the Fall BUGS and Soil Project. Students from each school took turns sharing the data resulting from the field research.
The conference lasted about one hour. During the last 15-20 minutes, after the data was presented by both schools, the students from both schools enjoyed being informal and chatting with each other. There was some "show and tell" and one student from Sebastian River Middle played a short selection on his oboe.
Several parents and two younger sisters (from Sebastian Elementary School) watched the video conference again as they did in September. At the end, everyone present, including the parents and elementary students, gathered around to wave and say goodbye to the Motomachi High School students and teachers.
