Our fast plants hit the dirt in August with high hopes of living up to their reputation. Unfortunately they still hadn't grown to fruition by January 8th when we returned from winter break. We gave them another weel and a day to do their thing. When we returned to school after MLK Day we harvested the plants. We counted and measured pods. We opened the pods and counted seeds. We compared the number of seeds per pod with the size of the pod, looking for a relationship. Then we set up fresh soil in flower pots and started the experiment once more. After a week under the grow lights twentyfour/seven, we havewhat the life cycle shows as a 48hour sprout. These puppies may be putting out pods when our study tour walks into the room this March. I have some photos to post of the harvest. Enjoy, Jim McElroy P.S. I also had a visiting Japanese teacher on the day we harvested plants. Later we drove over to the Russian River.
