Our monthly video conference took place on January 17/18. Having completed conferences concerning the BUGS Project, FAST Plants Project, and Pair Project, we used this time to present a program focusing on the animals and plants that live in our communities.
Photos were used by both schools to show a few of the many animals and plants. Sebastian River Middle School had about 25 photos of local animals and plants. Mostly, we had animals rather than plants. The photos were all different from the ones used in our Pair Project, although just a few of the species overlapped.
The students at Sebastian River Middle School worked in pairs. One student held up a photo of animal or plant while another student read the name a brief description of the organism.
Two girls came dressed in Japanese style clothing. A mother of one of the girls had made the outfits. They enjoyed modeling them for the students at Motomachi High School .
We used Skype for both audio and video and had no technical problems at all.
