The final video conference was held on February 7/8. This conference involved not just Sebastian River Middle School and Hiroshima Motomachi High School, but also Delmar Middle School of Delaware and Nusamai Junior High School in Hokkaido. Our moderator for the conference was Mr. Kayo Suzuki of Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund.
Each school took turns presenting summaries of the projects completed as well as acknowledging the many things that were learned and all fun and enjoyment that was had. At the end of the conference we said our goodbyes and good luck wishes.
There were were some technical problems this time. It was the first time there had been any audio or video problems all during the video conferences. Since there were more than two schools participating, Yahoo Messenger had to be used for video and Skype was used for the audio. We were unable to access the Yahoo video to activitate our web camera and we could neither see any of the other schools. So, it was a slight disappointment to the students, some of whom had dressed up for the occasion and had practiced in front of the camera giving their presentations. However, we were able to hear the other schools reasonably well and the students were able to give the audio portion of their presentations. They were happy.
