Wednesday, March 22- Mayumi and Makiko spent the day at McKinley Elementary School observing a state-of-the-art technology equipped elementary school. As they were quick to wonder, who paid for this? In the case of this school, a large philanthropic organization, The Albertson Foundation, funded McKinley as a pilot school. As test scores bear out, the children have greatly benefitted.
Mexican food seemed to be the most popular fare; We have had tacos, nachos... three times this week already. Ole!
Afterschool, Mayumi and Makiko visited The Discovery Center, a hands-on children's museum. The current exhibit is an exploration of medical imaging science.
