They compared school facilities in Japan with that in America, mentioning that American schools must get a lot of aid, especially from local businesses in terms of advanced IT support. They thought Japanese schools and industries should collaborate -since it would benefit both parties to nurture stewards of society and provide career guidance. Although they were impressed by the focus on developing individualism, they were concerned about the economic disparity in American society, which is a growing problem now in Japan. According to Professor Ehara from Boise State University, Japanese society has been following trends present in American society. He said Japan needs to make an effort to prevent these problems in the future in their own society. All the teachers agreed with him on this point. Lastly, they mentioned that the environment in Idaho was rather unexpected with its desert-like landscape with very few trees. Even though they also live in a mountainous area in Fujinomiya, they said their view was completely different. They thought it may be interesting to compare their local environments as their pair project.
