Today is my second day at school and I feel as if I have been here for a long time. The children are just precious. I taught four classes of 6th grade students. I began by showing them a DVD I made of my students giving a quiz. They seem to like that format so I decided to copy them. The students at Ono Minami seemed to enjoy the video but I am not sure how much of it they understood. I also gave out a math challenge sheet of higher level thinking skills. Some of the children embraced the challenge while others said it was too hard.
I was so pleased to see the artwork that Dowell has given to the school prominently displayed. I know my students will be happy to know that it is appreciated.
The weather is hot and humid. At least there is a breeze in the staff room. I am sitting in a meeting but I have no idea what they are talking about. I have about 35 minutes before I get to go home, cool off and relax.
I have attached some of my favorite photos.

Oh you must explain the fine gentleman in the last photo. Is he a friend of yours? Jim East High School

Gail,
Great photos! Looks (and sounds) like you are having a great time. I would also like to know who that fine looking gentleman is in your last photo!!!
See you next weekend, Annika

Jim, I have to keep the identity of the Fine Young Man a secret because he is too good to get away. As you can see, he works out a lot and is a real hunk. Gail

Jim, Tell me about the recycled rainwater. I love that idea. Do you have a lot of downtime? Gail

I am the other Jim, so McElroy will have to explain the photo. In Cheyenne, we are starting to use recycled water for parks and East High School school grounds and football fields. It is a relatively new program for us. Basically used water is treated to the point that it can be used for plants. My understanding is that it will be completely potable, but we are not using it for our drinking water. If you are interested, I can send you a link when I get back to Wyoming. It explains the process. Jim, East High
