Hi Carolynn, Great description of a day in our life in Japan. I feel the same way about lack of time. By the way I was inspired by your digital audio recorder and bought one at Yodobashi Camera in Sapporo. I only have the Japanese instructions, but I have had fun recording some of the lively sounds at Yamanote-minami Elementary. Dave

Carolyn - Same general schedule for me. I understand about the fatigue. I feel the same way. My principal and viced principal both speak some English and are eager to try it out. So, I have many friends with whom to speak.
I am understanding more Japanese but still can't speak worth a lick!
The children are warming to me and overcoming shyness.
I taught a science lesson thanks to Dave. His happy/sad balls, the celts and two other similar "tricks" made for a very successful lesson. I had a regular audience but it went exceedingly well. I owe Dave a big hug and a beer!
All other stuff is ok...very warm faculty and they are going out of their ways to help me.
