Bill- Cindy Jones here! Remember I want to get information on your silkworm project. And, when time permits, discuss and share ideas that you use swith your kids. We teachers of hte gifted hardly get a chance to exchange ideas.
Thanks, Bill!

Silkworms? Wasn't that the story where the cocoon dropped into the teacup of the princess and she saw it start to unravel in the hot water of the tea? As I recall, she had one of her "ladies in waiting" (I need some of those to go along with the "bath attendants" on my list...) unwind the cocoon. By the time they got to the boiled worm, the helper had left the palace, crossed the courtyard, gone over the drawbridge and made it halfway through the village. Maybe that's just an urban legend. If you need mulberry leaves for your project, I just happen to have the tree you need growing in my front yard back in Santa Rosa. Cheers, Jim McElroy

I wish I could have gone to the university discussion. It sounds very interesting. Isn't Nikko just beautiful? That is what I did with one of my free days during our 2004 summer visit. Jim, East High

Hi Jim, Thanks for your reply to my post. Yes the legend you mentioned is the one I use with my students- it kicks off my Silk Road/ Chinese history/ Marco Polo unit. I love your photos and as you know I've been having trouble posting my photos. I think the problem lies in the size of the photos I'm trying to upload. I know there is a way to size the photos to fit the forum requirements, but I'll be @#$%*!!!! if I can figure out how. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bill Gilluly

Hey Bill, if you need help resizing your photos I have some software on my laptop that will do the job. Just e-mail them to me at and I will try and get them done in the evenings and send back to the address that you send from. Jim, East High

Hi Bill,
Posting photos should be fine as long as you resize your photos to 500-600 pixels wide. There should be a link to a simple free photo resizer in the last XOOPS manual document, so maybe you can try that one.
I hope this helps,
Elissa
