The week seemed awful quiet without a houseguest. We really enjoyed Alexandra's stay, but every night was an event after a big day. It's hard to showcase California in 5 days...
I did get Carol on a roadbike Wednesday afternoon. She switched to mountainbikes years ago and struggles to relax on those skinny little rims once again. We spent 3 months circling France touring off road bikes in the 80's, but she'll need some small successes to build her confidence back up. Meantime we've got a great driver for the "sag wagon".
I took a few photos of our pair project pond project for my finnal report earlier this week. I'll post them here. Not too much has changed in the past 2 months. The volunteer grass and invasive species have moved back into the berm.
Soon I'll bring the weed wacker out to school and tidy things up. I want to set up the drip irrigation system and move ahead with the spring planting.
Administration wants to move Art upo here because this abode has much needed water for our budding artists. That would displace me to some other campus location...if I'm lucky: the superentendent would like me to return to elementaty school. I'm the only faculty member at the HS who also has an elementary credential. Declining enrollment issues prevents us from hiring new teachers when somebody "walks off the job".
I am involved in another pond construction project elsewhere on the THS campus as part of the senior project activity. I don't want to dump a whole lot of time and energy into this pond if they are going to take it away from me and give it to somebody else. We'll have to see what the future holds. Best, Jim
